Summer Program

The summer program is a vital and integral part of the overall academic program. Full-year courses in mathematics, science, history, and computer science are offered for Upper School students. We strongly recommend that students and their parents consider the summer program when planning their academic and extra-curricular program.

Taking an Upper School course for credit during the summer can provide for schedule flexibility. A student who takes a full-year academic course in the summer program may be allowed to take a reduced academic load in the following year, permitting a student to concentrate on four solids or to enroll in extra visual arts, performing arts, or computer science classes. Students active in more than one extracurricular program should seriously consider attending summer school. A student who wishes to accelerate in mathematics or science can do so by taking a full academic course during the summer. A student who wishes to take a sixth solid may take one during the summer and five during the year.
